Episode 57: Special Episode: 4 Women Who Are Making an Impact

This week it’s a special variety episode to celebrate Women’s History Month! Women’s History Month isn’t just about studying women of the past. It’s about learning from women who are doing great things today, creating new history right now that future generations will look back on.

In this episode, I’m highlighting my favorite parts of interviews with four incredible female guests: Maia Reed, Kelly Lamich, Rebecca Leder, and Misty Lynne Cauthen. Maia is an environmental expert and Lifecycle Assessment Specialist for Horizon Organic Milk. Kelly is a content creator and clean beauty entrepreneur. Rebecca is the bestselling author of KNOCK: How to Open Doors and Build Career Relationships that Matter. Misty is the owner of Dragonfly Pilates and a mentor specializing in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access.

Hearing from these trailblazing women will inspire and motivate you – I know they did for me. Here’s what you’ll learn from this episode:

  • (2:57) Maia’s advice on work-life balance, self-care, and how she found meaningful work that lights her up

  • (6:11) Maia’s super-simple checklist of things she does to de-stress herself on bad days

  • (7:20) Kelly’s story of quitting her emotionally draining corporate job, following her passion, and unleashing her creative side

  • (10:48) Kelly exposes the toxic personal care products industry: “I have so many health-conscious friends who are constantly at the gym, really aware of what they’re eating, but blissfully unaware of what they’re lathering all over their bodies on a daily basis.”

  • (15:15) How Rebecca stays disciplined and consistent as a creative person who thrives on variety

  • (17:44) Rebecca reveals the story behind her KNOCK method and how it’s helping people make new connections in their personal and professional lives

  • (24:48) What Misty thinks businesses need to do to promote diversity and understand their own biases

  • (29:35) How Misty finds ways to calm her racing mind and night and fall asleep
